Lusitanian Chordophone Exhibition & Showcase Cycle at Sibelius Museum, Turku

Lusitanian Music Publishing promotes a series of showcase concerts, an instrument exhibition and viola Campaniça workshops – for Finnish musicians! – at Sibelius Museum, this November 16th-20th 2021.

The concert series will see Bicho Carpinteiro, Lusitanian Ghosts, Marco Campaniça, O Gajo, A Cantadeira and RAIA perform at the Sibelius Museum auditorium while the instrument exhibition will introduce the Finnish public to the violas Amarantina, Beiroa, Braguesa, Campaniça, Terceira and Toeira – many of these nearly went extinct in the 20th century.

The Portuguese-Swedish collective Lusitanian Ghosts will also show a film shot during the making of their historic first album, which brought together, for the first time on the same record, these several chordophone instruments from all corners of portuguese regions, both in the mainland and the islands, for a chordophonic rock n roll extravaganza that will only be outdone once the collective release their sophomore album, “Exotic Quixotic”, on November 19th.
