Lusitanian at WOMEX ’21

WOMEX comes to Porto, Portugal, October 2021 and Lusitanian is proud to have two artists performing.

First off, part of the ReFolk Express Opening Concert on October 27th, SEIVA bring the folk to the main stage of Casa da Música. Seiva is one of the most unique and international bands in the folk scene in Portugal. They started their career in 2014 with the goal of making a musical project totally based on the Portuguese oral tradition. Heirs of Dazkarieh, Vasco Ribeiro Casais and Joana Negrão brought to Seiva their will to explore even further the Portuguese traditional music present in the work songs, in the adufes and tambourines, in the songs of faith and in instruments such as the cavaquinho, viola braguesa and the Portuguese bagpipes.

On the second day of WOMEX ’21, on the 28th, O GAJO will grace the stage in his new trio format featuring drums and upright bass, following the release of his “Subterraneos” album. Find out more about O Gajo here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxkZejE7BXc
