The Estate of José Afonso, one of the greatest Portuguese songwriters of all time, announces the release of “Coro de Primavera” (“The Choir of Spring”) to coincide with this year’s anniversary of the Carnation Revolution of April 25th 1974.
This single heralds the full return of José Afonso’s recorded works with plans for the release of his 11 out-of-print albums (recorded between 1968 and 1981) via the Mais 5 label, created through a licensing deal between the Estate and Lusitanian Music, part of the SCL Agency music group.
This is also the first time that these historic, timeless songs are made available – legitimately – on streaming platforms around the world, an event of profound cultural relevance in Portugal and abroad.
