Lusitanian’s Nuno Saraiva attended the inaugural AIMP – Association of Independent Music Publishers’ Atlanta Creative Summit and participated on the panel “The Music World Is Different Outside the US”, alongside Canada’s Margaret McGuffin from Music Publishers Canada, the IMPF’s Jake Beaumont-Nesbitt and ex-Sheer Publishing, now Downtown Music Holdings’ Senior VP of new markets.
The trade mission saw Nuno and David, both IMPF members, be “adopted” by the MPC’s delegation to Atlanta led by Margaret McGuffin, who also moderated the panel. The conference included special networkings between the international delegates and the Atlanta Music Professionals, a studio tour (including recording studios as well as television / movie studios), as well as the conference programme organized by AIMP Atlanta.
In parallel, a songwriting camp including Atlanta artists and producers as well as Canadian artists resulted in 21 tracks being written, four of which were featured in a listening session on the last day of the conference. An amazing experience, the likes of which Lusitanian and IMPF hope to repeat in years to come to the benefit of the entire European and International Music Publishers’ communities.
Lusitanian’s participation was made possible in part by contributions from Creative Europe via the IMPF Network Project.
